Incentive Compensation

This is a position based on experience and qualifications. The role follows the school calendar, with summers and school holidays off.

Applicant Location Requirements

3–5 years of experience teaching music at the middle school level

Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage a wide range of learners

A personal commitment to Jesus Christ and alignment with Emmanuel Christian School’s mission and values

Willingness to affirm and live out the school’s Life Together Covenant within the school community

Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, and families

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, Music, or a related field required

Teaching license preferred but not required for part-time candidates

Demonstrated knowledge of middle school music instruction (general music, choir, band, or a combination)

Ongoing commitment to professional growth and excellence in teaching

Physical Requirement

Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the classroom and school building during scheduled teaching hours

Ability to lift and carry classroom or music-related materials up to 25 pounds

Ability to hear and communicate effectively with students in a classroom setting

Ability to supervise students and respond quickly in a school environment

Responsibilities

Model Christ-like attitudes and behaviors for students and families including faith, love, repentance, and high personal standards of spiritual growth.

Create meaningful relationships with students and families with the goal of child development at the forefront.

Deliver materials that align with course objectives and curriculum guides.

Submit weekly lesson plans so parents and students have a clear understanding of regular expectations.

Incorporate a variety of instructional methods to strive to engage all students and meet the academic, spiritual, and emotional needs of students.

Provide regular formative and summative assessments and record graded assignments in a timely manner.

Create and maintain a classroom culture and environment conducive to creative learning.
