This is a [full-time/part-time], 10-month school-year position. Compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and demonstrated success in music instruction within a Christian educational environment.

Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, Music, or related field required
Valid Indiana teaching license preferred (or eligibility to obtain), if applicable
Demonstrated knowledge of middle school music standards and instructional best practices
Commitment to ongoing professional growth and instructional excellence
Experience teaching music at the elementary or middle school level preferred
Ability to direct vocal and/or instrumental ensembles
Experience planning school performances, concerts, or chapel music
Strong classroom management and student engagement skills
Ability to cultivate creativity, discipline, and confidence through music instruction
The physical requirements of this position include the ability to stand for extended periods, conduct rehearsals, move throughout classrooms and performance spaces, lift musical equipment or materials up to 25 pounds, and supervise students in classroom and performance environments.
The Middle School Music Teacher will:
• Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned music instruction appropriate to middle school learners
• Develop students’ musical literacy, performance skills, and appreciation for music
• Direct and prepare students for school performances, concerts, and special programs
• Integrate biblical truth and worldview into music instruction and repertoire selection
• Foster creativity, discipline, collaboration, and confidence in students
• Maintain classroom structure and promote respectful participation
• Assess student progress and communicate clearly with families
• Collaborate with faculty and administration to support student growth
• Participate in school events, professional development, and community life
• Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the Head of School or Principal
This position reports directly to the Principal.
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of state and federal background checks and compliance with all child safety policies of Emmanuel Christian School.
The employee must have the ability to communicate clearly in written and verbal formats and possess auditory and visual acuity sufficient to instruct, supervise, and assess student performance in a music classroom setting.
