Incentive Compensation

This is a full-time, 10-month school-year position. Compensation is commensurate with education, experience, licensure, and demonstrated success supporting diverse learners within a Christian educational environment.

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Education, or related field required
Valid Indiana Special Education teaching license preferred (or eligibility to obtain)
Demonstrated knowledge of differentiated instruction and inclusive education practices
Commitment to ongoing professional growth and instructional excellence

Experience Requirements

Minimum 3 years of experience in special education or student support preferred
Experience developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
Strong collaboration skills when working with classroom teachers and families
Ability to support students with academic, behavioral, or learning differences
Strong organizational and documentation skills

Physical Requirement

The physical requirements of this position include the ability to stand for extended periods, move throughout classrooms and school facilities, lift instructional materials up to 25 pounds, and supervise students in classroom and outdoor environments.

Responsibilities

The Special Education Teacher will:
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Provide differentiated instruction and targeted academic interventions
• Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusive classroom practices
• Assess student progress and maintain accurate documentation
• Communicate regularly with families regarding student growth and support strategies
• Foster a safe, structured, and Christ-centered learning environment
• Participate in school events, professional development, and community life
• Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the Head of School or Principal
This position reports directly to the Principal.

Security Clearance Requirement

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of state and federal background checks and compliance with all child safety policies of Emmanuel Christian School.

Sensory Requirement

The employee must have the ability to communicate clearly in both written and verbal formats and possess visual and auditory acuity sufficient to supervise students and provide instructional support effectively.
